Christmas this year was fun. Johanna knew about Santa but still did not really grasp the idea. She did grasp the idea of opening presents and loved doing it! She got to open presents in NY the week before Christmas, then at home on Christmas eve and Christmas Day. She was excited but think next year she will be even more into it. It was fun to see how much she liked all of the babies she got for Christmas.

This Halloween Johanna was actually excited and ready to go "trick or treating". She said trick or treat and said her costume was a princess costume and she wanted to wear "princess". Johanna was Abby Cadabby from Seasame Street. We would say Abby and she would respond back with Cadabby and wave her wand. She had soooo much fun and was so animated. Steelers Game!

Shane and I got to go out with our friends the other weekend and see a Steeler game at Pittsburgh! It was such an awesome time, we had seats on the 5o yard line seven rows back from the field. The energy from the fans was awesome and the weather was good too. Overall, it was a perfect night and day with our friends the Stuckeys! And the Steelers won, it was an exciting game

Pumpkin Picking and Fall Fun..

Today Johanna, Shane, and I had family time at a great place where we went through a corn maze, took a hayride, and picked out a pumpkin for the house. It took us about an hour to get through the corn maze, and we got a prize because we found all of the hidden things throughout the maze. Johanna did really well, she walked most of the time and did not cry! Johanna loved the hayride, she laughed and smiled the whole time. She even made a future boyfriend, she kept saying, "I want to sit by the boy", and "I sit by the boy". It was really cute! Then at the end of the time, Johanna was able to climb on a huge pyramid of hay. She loved climbing all over it and did not want to leave! Overall, it was a great family day and hopefully we have started a fall tradition for years to come!

We went to Harvest Fest the other day. It was raining the whole time but we still were able to see the animals. Johanna loved the animals and kept petting all of them. Labor Day Family Weekend...

This weekend our family came down to visit, Shane's parents and his sister and our niece. It was so nice to have them all at our house for the weekend. The girls played really well together and there was laughter all through the house which was great to hear. Also, all you heard was Kendall saying, wait up Johhanny and Johanna saying back wait Kenaaallll......They were so cute and already starting to be best friends. When we asked Johanna if she had fun with Kendall, she said back, Kenaalll...is my friend and we have fun! It is so nice that they are so close in age and like playing with each other. My family is a blessing in our lives thank you for everything!

Thats right she is 82...Can you believe it...She looks younger...She and my pap still hunt, kayak, walk, and do anything that is outside activities. They live life to the fullest and do not worry about age..They are awesome!

So we went to my gram and pap's party tonight. It was supposed to be a surprise but they found out about the party. It was really nice and great to be with family. Cannot believe it has been 25 years! They are great grandparents and we love them very much.

Today we decided to change Johanna's room into a "Big Girl" room. We wiped down walls, vaccumed, and cleaned the carpets. Also, we brought in her new toddler bed. Hopefully she sleeps and likes her new room. Only time will tell....

The other day my cousins and I had a photo shoot to make a very special present for two special people in our lives... Soon to find out who those special people are in a latter post...The last time we took a picture with all of us was when I was 18 years old...We needed to update the picture and how we have changed. They turned out beautiful and I am so glad we are still so close and able to get together to take pictures like these. Love you guys very much!

Had a semi day off work today (have to work a little tonight) so took advantage of the nice weather and spent part of the day with our friends, Ayden, Moira, and Bethany. It was such a nice time, the kids played well together and kept each other entertained. We have to do this more often...I really enjoyed myself and so did the kids....

A Day at the Lake...

This has been a hard week for me, but I keep getting reminded about how blessed I am. I have a wonderful husband who would do anything for me, supportive, loving, encouraging....on and on. I have a perfectly wonderful and beautiful daughter who listens, sleeps, and eats well for the most part. God has given me so much and on weeks that are hard we and especially me have a hard time remembering the blessings. Even though I went through some hard things this week, God has so many blessings in my life and he will continue to bless me. Even through this hard week, I have learned so much and have learned to focus on the good things in life and on what I have in life (which is a lot!)....Sometimes lessons come so we can learn and not be bitter...That is what I learned this week to focus on the good things even though hard times and not be bitter, this time in my life will pass and better things are yet to come in my life and my family's life..

Last weekend fun...

Last weekend was a great with fun filled activities ! First on friday Johanna, pappy, and nana went to a kids night at a park. It was supposed to be held at a pool but it was too cold! Even though it was too cold Johanna still wanted to swim because we promised her all day she could swim and she said "I swim mommy". So we let her swim in the cold weather for awhile (which she loved). Then we went over and took part in the festivities at the park where Johanna bounced in a bounce house, saw some dogs and had icecream. She even won a pass to a local park by our house, it was such a nice time. Then on saturday we went to the library and saw smokey the bear, which Johanna emphateically said when she saw him SMOKEY, and gave him a hug with Shane holding her. It was so cute. Then on sunday we went to birthday party at Chuck e Cheese for our friend's son's 4th birthday party. Let me tell you Chuck e Cheese on a saturday is enough to drive someone insane. Do not think I will be doing that again, but Johanna loved playing with her friends.

Happy Fourth Of July/Annual Fourth of July Church Picnic

So I am doing two posts in one! In the past two weeks we have had some really fun picnics! The first one was our church picnic where they have an annual fun day for the kids with a petting zoo, a jump house, snow cones, ballon maker, and hair painting. Johanna had so much fun, she loved bouncing and the animals as you will see by the pictures!
Then for the Fourth of July, we had our annual picnic at our house. It was a great time with friends and family. Our new play house was a huge success with the kids, they played all night until about 9pm on the play house (and were really dirty). Many memories were made and the picnic is always a lot of fun. Good conversation and food! We thought this year would be the first year Johanna would see fireworks. She made it until 10:15 pm and then fell asleep on Shane while Shane and I watched the fireworks. Family Reunion time came around this year! We went to Parker Dam in Clearfield, PA. We had a great turn out, the weather was nice, and it was nice to just catch up with everyone. It was my grandma Wallace's side reunion. Every family was represented at the reunion. There were a lot of kids and Johanna loved playing with all of her cousins!

Belated Fathers Day!

Fathers are so important in today's world! This father's day was extra special in that I got to spend it with my husband, my dad, and my grandfather. The three most important male figures in my life. They did and still presently influence my life everyday with great advice, love and encouragement. I could not get through my life without these strong men involved. My dad is a great father and grandfather. I marvel at his strength and love for not only me but Johanna and all people he comes into contact with. My grandfather is a man of integrity and a person that always has a smile and a story to make your day brighter. My husband, man I could say a lot, but for time's sake I will just say he is an extraordinaryly great father and husband. He goes above and beyond being a dad and a husband. No matter what I need him to do, he does it without complaint. God truly blessed my life with wonderful men, but also Godly men. These pictures and this blog post is a tribute to them (even though it is a little late).

So this past week Shane, Johanna, and I along with Shane's parents and his sister, brother in law and our niece Kendall went to our cottage in Ocean City for the week. This year the girls had so much fun with each other and were able to interact. We had our share of timing them out but overall they played well with each other and liked the company. Johanna called Kendall, here baby but when I told her to call her Kendall, she did say come here Kendaaaalll...It was really cute! Johanna also started saying so many more sentences on vacation and just loved the beach! She ran in the sand and ran to the water (unlike last year when she cried when she went in the sand). On the last day, Shane and I were sitting out in the living room waiting for Johanna to get up from her nap when all of the sudden we heard a noise. We turned around and it was Johanna! She said she was up and she climbed! When asked why she climbed, she said "I wanted to open the door". She laughed and we laughed! It was so funny! She showed us how she got out of the pack and play, she is such a character! Also, on vacation it was the first time Johanna said "I love you". She said it to her cousin Kendall in the bathtub, she said I looove..you..It melted my heart, since I have been waiting for that for a long time. Many memories that will be remembered for a lifetime. Swing set, Almost there...

So Shane has been putting together Johanna's play set the past couple weekends. He has done such a great job, and has done it all byhimself. He is such a wonderful husband and have to give him credit on the blog. The directions said it would take 40 hours or more for two people to put it together and Shane put it together all byhimself under that hour limit. Johanna will have MANY years of fun with this play set and hopefully all of our friends and family will be able to join in the fun for years to come!

So we have not had much going on the last few weeks and have not posted in a long time it seems like! Just wanted to update on some pics of Johanna and us! She is getting so big, saying so many new words each day. And also starting to throw little fits when she does not get her way...ughh..do not like that! But I am so happy it is summer time and we can enjoy the sunshine..Will have some pics soon to show off our new play set! The pictures are the ones that were taken when we went to visit Shane's parents and went to Chad and Sandra's wedding (Shane's cousins).

For mother's day it was very relaxing. Woke up and Shane made me breakfast, then went to church and when I came home Johanna laid on the couch and fell asleep with me for about a half hour until she went for a nap (she has not done this for months with me). Then I got to scrapbook and take a nap then off to dinner at my mom's house. Dinner was awesome, and nice to spend time with family. Then we took Johanna to ride some rides, she was so animated and loved the rides this year. It was overall such a blessed day!

Today we took Johanna to our library and she got to visit with Clifford, the mascot from Blands Park, and a real houd dog that finds missing people. She loved it! She kept going up the Bear (the Blands Park mascot) and hugging him and saying "Bear". She danced with Clifford and got kisses from the dog. She especially liked these googles that were there as you will see in a picture below, she carried them around and wanted to wear them!

On Saturday we had Johanna's birthday party in PA. My whole family came and "Aunt Carrie" and "Uncle Justin" came to the party. Also, Lisa, Pete, Ci Ci and Livi (family friends came by). It was a great time! The weather was absolutely gorgeous, the best weather to date! Johanna got a lot of nice presents and we just had fun catching up with each other. The menu was Johanna's favorites foods which are hotdogs, macaroni and cheese, and baked beans. And last but not least, cake! My mom and me made the Mickey and Minnie cakes, pretty good for our first time making cakes. Both cakes together

Today April 16, 2009, Johanna turns two! I cannot believe that my little girl is two already. The time has really flown by. She is such a wonderful little girl and God has truly blessed our lives. I cannot even remember life without her. She brings joy to our lives each day and gives us something new to laugh about each moment we are with her. She is pure joy and it is so awesome to see the love she has for others. She is such a loving girl with such emotion. She puts her all into everything and always smiles. She is so pleasant and wants to be around people and have fun! She is a ham. I am so blessed to be her mother and cannot wait to continue to experience her as she grows up through the good and bad times. She has learned so much already and says so many words (too many to write). She is even up to saying some sentences. She knows what she wants and how to tell you. But at the sametime her smile, hugs, and kisses melt your heart. She grabs your attention and loves to have attention put on her. She is tall for her age and seems to not want to stop growing. She has started to potty train (which is awesome, have a long way to go but she is trying). My prayer for Johanna this year is just that she continues to just have fun, love, and be happy. Also, that she continues to learn new things and grow to understand love is from Jesus and that no matter what family will always be there for her and always love her. Hope she feels that no matter where she is.

Easter Weekend...

This past weekend for Easter we went and spent a couple days at Shane's parent's house in New York. It was such a nice time, time to get away and relax. Also, to just catch up and spend time with family that we do not get to see much. It was very eventful. As you will see in the pictures we went to a Children's museum (where Johanna loved elmo's world), we rode on a train, a carousel while visiting the museum. Johanna said "I want to ride that", when we were going to ride the train. I cannot believe she is talking in sentences! Then on saturday Johanna and Grammy Dee (Shane's mom) and I went to a breakfast with the Easter Bunny. Johanna won bubbles because she was one of the best dancers when the clown asked the kids to dance, it was awesome! Johanna loved the Easter Bunny and chased him around the restaurant wanting him to talk to her. I am glad she was not afraid of him. Also, on Saturday we had the first installment of her second birthday party. Then on Easter Sunday we put some eggs in the yard and Johanna found them (her first easter egg hunt), we went to church, hid easter baskets, and ate dinner. It was such a great time, enjoy the pictures!

Easter Tradition..Coloring Eggs..

So my mom always colored eggs with me growing up, and I was so excited to start the tradition with Johanna this year. She really liked it and took the eggs out of the dye. It was quick but a lot of fun, looking forward to doing this each year. It brought back some good memories to me. She is growing up so fast and love seeing her try new things and build new memories. Through God's eyes...

Last night Shane and I went to a third day concert and Brandon Heath opened for them along with Revive. But Bradon Heath really struck me with two of his songs in particular. The first one was "Give me the eyes". It was an awesome song about how we need to ask for God's eyes to view people. In order to unconditionally love people and not judge them we need to constantly ask for God's eyes (how he sees people). God always looks at people as magnificent and wonderful in his eyes even if they are not so pleasant on the outside or inside. He loves them just the way they are and he meets them there with his loving eyes. This song really convicted me to remember that no matter what people are like or look like, that my eyes could have an affect on their lives and I need to remember to have love in my eyes. People change people, people hurt people, and people love people just by showing another one's eyes. This really challanged me to remember that once glance could either encourage or discourage someone and I want to give someone love through my eyes. The other song was red sky http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_MyivQtnGQ........This is the video link to youtube...This song talked about how we need to love and show love no matter who it is, it is not our strength but through God's love we need to show other people love, even if we do not feel alright, we need to show others hope in and through our lives.

Tonight we went out and got icecream! Johanna did such a great job today, she listened well and even went poopy on the potty twice and peed once or twice. We wanted to just go out and have fun so we got icecream to celebrate Johanna doing so well. After we got some icecream Johanna wanted to ride on the horsey. We let her ride twice and she loved it! Smiled the whole time. After she was done riding we said we had to go, she bye to the horsey, "Bye horsey", and kissed it goodbye. She said "night" as we were walking away. These moments are precious and love that I can spend them with her.

So the other night two of my good friends and I went to see the New Kids on the Block. We had a blast from the past. It was Carrie (my best friend's bday), and it was so much fun! I thought it was going to be cheesy, but we had such a great time. They played for two hours and did not stop! It brought back so many memories and I got some good pictures too. New Kids know how to put on a good concert, they were very entertaining. And also I got to relive my younger days, it made me feel old....

So Johanna decided to think it was a good idea to get out of her crib. The other day Johanna was taking a nap and everything was seemingly good...until she decided to get up from her nap and start talking. Shane heard her talking (I was not home at this time), then he heard a loud sound. He was a little concerned but after a couple minutes it was quiet again so he just thought she hit her crib aganist the wall (which she does quite frequently). Well after about 5 mintues Shane heard more sounds and then it sounded like drawers opening and closing. He went upstairs to check on her and he opened the door and Johanna said "Hey"! With a bracelet on her wrist and blankets in her hand. Shane said what are you doing? And picked her up and put her back in her crib for a nap (because this happened only about 10 mintues after we put her down for a nap). He told her we do not get out of the crib when we nap, she said "okay" and went back to sleep. When I got home, she got up about 5 mintues later. I went up to get her. I changed her diaper and then put her back in the crib. I asked her to show mommy how she got out of the crib. She went over the the edge of the crib held on and dropped out of the crib. She then said, "help" to me. I said no you show mommy how you got out. She dropped down and gave me a smile. That was her first escape. Then on sunday she got out again. We heard a loud noise and she escaped again! We put her back in the crib but she bounced the rest of her nap! Needless to say we are looking for a bed....

Johanna loves to go to her gymnastics class and she is starting to listen better to the teacher. She loves to interact with the kids. The other day the teacher let them play with bubbles, she loved it! Also, nana came to watch and Johanna loved that!

Today it was such a nice day! It was great to have a day where we could not wear jackets! Johanna and I went to visit great gram Lucas and we went to get icecream and played outside. It was a nice day. We had lots of fun!

My mom has ducks at her house (nana's ducks) as Johanna would say. We went over to their house last night and my mom brought one of the ducks inside. The duck was getting beat up by the other ducks so my mom had to give it a bath and keep it inside. Johanna was so happy with having to get to see the duck. She could not saying "Hi duckee" and "I want to pet". She also wanted to kiss the duckey, and would say "Duckee has boo boos". It was such a sight!

Today we went to support our youth group at Fine Arts.. Johanna loved running around like a nut. There was plenty of space to do that. The youth did awesome and they were such a blessing. I am glad we got to go. Here are some pictures of Johanna hanging out on the sound equipment...Who knows maybe we have our next American Idol in the making.. She loves music and loves to clap her hands, put her hands up and dance.

Last week we got a new microwave and it came in HUGE box! Johanna was all about the new adventure. She climbed in and out of it for a long time. It was like a little house to her. She also got daddy to join in.

This year's Valentine's Day was perfect! I was able to spend it with the two most important people in my life, Johanna and Shane. We made cookies and Shane made a wonderful dinner. All of us sat down and had dinner together and then tried to ice some cookies...but as you can see by the pictures..Johanna wanted to eat the icing rather than ice them. Then after dinner we put Johanna down to bed and Shane and I watched a movie together. The movie was fireproof with Kirk Cameron...It was a great movie! It was so awesome to watch and it really emphasized the power of marriage. This movie, this week, and this Valentine's Day God really taught me how important my husband is and how much I take him for granted. I need to always protect him and our relationship and always love him how God loves me, unconditionally. God gave himself for us so I was really convicted to remember to always give myself to my husband, through the good times and bad times. He is my best friend and nothing will change that, unless I let it!

Not much new has happened lately except for really just being thankful for family and friends. It is so nice to have such great support from wonderful friends and family and we have been able to spend time with all of them a lot lately. God has truly blessed our family with such strong friends and family who always support us. And God also truly blessed us with a wonderful little girl who keeps growing and growing saying new words and surprising us each day. I am really trying to be thankful for the daily blessing that God gives us each day and trying to cherish the time we are able to spend with people we love. Who knows when you will not be able to see someone you love, so remember to tell everyone how much you love them and how much they mean in your life. Our beautiful girl

Today we went and took part in little people gymnastics with Ellen and Zoe and Jess and Madison. Johanna had fun, but she had a hard time listening to instructions and sitting still...not surprised! My grandma came down the other day to watch Johanna! When Johanna got up in the morning, she went over to see my gram and climbed into bed with her. She loved playing with my gram and loved putting on the fireman's hat. Johanna snuggled and kissed my gram. It was nice to see her playing with my gram and to be able to still have a great grandma. What a blessing!

Bovine Intervention...

So we were on our way to church today when all of the sudden we saw cows on the road coming at us..Yes that is what I said cows! It was such a site to see and only in Central PA...We were driving and they escaped onto the road and were running down the road blocking traffic. We kept driving and then the cows blocked the whole road and would not let any cars through. We thought we were going to be stuck and miss church when all of the sudden the bovine intervention occurred ( A CAR CHARGED THE COWS) and the cows started running towards us..We thought we were going to be charged, but they ran past us and ran home. When the intervention was over, we kept on driving to church laughing hysterically. What a way to start the day....

The other night Johanna had her first experience with bubbles in the tub! She absolutely loved it, thank you to Lisa our babysitter. Johanna played for a long time in the tub and she did not want to come out. I think the bubbles are going to become a staple in our household.

Christmas Day 2008

Christmas this year was awesome. Johanna was able to have to open her presents and she was able to react more this year. She wanted to play with each present she opened! It was so cute! She got a lot of presents! Some of the big ones were a new kitchen, tickle me cookie monster, a baby set with a stroller, pack and play and highchair, dr. suess stuffed animals with the books, and money to get a new swing set for the spring. We spent Christmas day at home opening presents and then in the afternoon we went to my mom's house for lunch with my family. It was a great time and we are truly blessed to have family and presents this Christmas when other family's are struggling.

Christmas Eve we always go to my grandma's house (Johanna's great grammy Lucas) and we have dinner, go to church and open some presents. Johanna was so excited to get her new crib and she climbed continously in and out of it, she thought it was for her to sleep in. She also got a new baby that talks. She did great in church for the first 10 mintues and then we had to play in the nursery because she was too busy. We are so blessed to have family around so close and to have the opportunity to spend time with them.

Christmas in New York!

This past week we spent up in Rochester, NY (Fairport, NY) to be exact. We went up and visited with Shane's parents and relatives for the week. It was such a great relaxing week. We were able to sleep in almost every day (even Johanna slept in, what a blessing!). We were able to catch up with relatives we do not get to see much and just be together as a family. It was such a nice vacation and such a blessing to spend everyday with my daughter and husband and family. You could not ask for a better vacation! We were able to take Johanna to a children's museum where they had replicas of Curious George, Seasame Street, and Bearenstein Bears to name a few. Her favorite activity was riding in the taxi from seasame street (she did not want to get out). We also took her to a children's play place where she loved bouncing and playing with baby dolls. This week also she really has started putting words together, she says "you sit", "I want ____", "mommy come color with me", "sit", "juice", etc..She has really started to communicate better and use her words. Praise the Lord for the great weekend and the much needed rest and relaxation. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the last day we were there we got 12 inches of snow, which was so pretty and fun to play in. The only thing that stunk was that it stopped me from visiting my best friend in Casenovia, NY but we will visit when the weather is better! She loves these cars!

Today was a lazy saturday, and it was so nice to just hang out with Johanna. We had so much fun, this was her putting on shoes (which she loves, not her own but daddys and mommys shoes). She was a ball of energy and was talking all day. It was a great time and we were able to cuddle, color, and just have fun. This was a great start to our vacation this next week in Rochester!

Shane's First Deer!

So today Shane went out with my dad, gram, pap, and uncle to hunt. He has went hunting the past four years and has never been lucky enough to get a deer. At about 8:30 am I got a call from Shane, and I was a little unsure why. When I anwsered the phone he said he got a deer, we were so excited. I am so proud of him and the deer was a pretty big deer. Heres to eating deer the rest of the year...yeah!

So we had thanksgiving at my grandma's house and it was so nice spending time with family. Johanna was feeling sick so she was a little cranky but overall we had a nice relaxing day with eveyrone. I am so thankful to have such great family who all get along and work together real well, praise the Lord, he is so great. I cannot believe this is Johanna's second thanksgiving and second Christmas, time flies. The other pictures are Johanna seeing the Christmas tree for the first time. She likes to pull off the ortaments this year.

Poppy in the Potty...

So Johanna pooped in the potty the other day. We got her up like every other day and asked her if she wanted to go on the potty, and she sat down. To our surprise, she sat on the potty without having a tantrum. She sat there calmly reading a book, which she loves to do. It was amazing! Then after about two to three minutes, Shane yelled down to me to come upstairs. He said he heard a plop! Then after about six minutes, Johanna was done and she had pooped in the potty and had many more plops after the first one! We were so proud of her, we clapped and made such a big deal. Johanna was so proud of herself, she was smiling all over. Then after we praised her, she went back in the bathroom and would point at the toliet and say poop. We are so proud of her. She even pooped on the potty the next day in the morning, it seems like it is becoming a habit. I took a picture, but I do not think everyone would want to see that:)

Our friend Lyndsay so graciously took Johanna's 18 month pictures at Legion Park. She did a great job! We are so blessed to have such a wonderful friend with such great talents! Even though Johanna did not want to look at the camera much, the pictures turned out great. Hope you enjoy them as much as we do. I cannot believe how big Johanna is getting. She is starting to look like a little girl and acting like one too:). She says many words such as kitty, duckie, mommy, nana, pappy, binkie, juice, anna, ci ci, no, uh oh, up, peese, "I poop", baby, where you go, ball, bear, shoes, book, boo, de de, and some other ones that I cannot think of. She also can point to all of her body parts and is able to take directions such as go throw this away for mommy, and she puts it in the garbage can. She is also sitting on the potty and saying "I poop" but still having a hard time getting her to go on a regular basis. She also is starting to understand more and verbalizes if she wants something or not. She also loves to color. She is growing up so fast and getting bigger and bigger every day. It is so much fun to interact with her now, hear her laugh and run around. She is such a loving little girl, she loves to give all of her friends hugs and loves to blow kisses to people. She has such a wonderful personality full of life and love.

Celebration Sunday!

So today November 9th is celebration Sunday at our church, Pleasant Valley Assembly God. It is such a wonderful day to celebrate God's love and faithfulness. In the midst of our budget crises in the world, God's budget is plentiful! He is such a gracious and wonderul God. He is bigger than finances and we should never forget that! God will never forsake or forget his people, he wants to bless them. So with that said, our church has truly been blessed by God with a project they have undertook a year ago. God has done numersous miracles in the face of disappointment and in the face of a project that seemed unsurmountable. But God showed his awesome power and performed miracles to make a city better! God is so good and great! It is awesome to see him work and revel in his handy work. I am so thankful that God puts projects in our hearts and that our church took his nudging and are walking faitfully with him to finish the project. So this year Johanna was a tinker bell princess...She looked so cute! She did not like having the hair piece so we were not able to add that to her outfit. She went trick or treating for about an hour around my parent's development then she got too cold and melted down. She got a lot of candy and was able to actually reach for the candy herself and put it in her elmo basket. Overall, she loved it and had a good time. Looking forward to many more years of dressing up and getting candy!

Today we went to a children's museum near our house..It was great! http://www.quaintcornor.com.. It was such a nice place to bring Johanna, and she loved playing. She did not want to go home! She played in all of the rooms, she especially liked the grocery store, restaurant room, and sandbox room. She played in the sand for a long time and watched the other kids. It is a great fun and learning experience for kids. We will definately be coming back to this place!

As he came in...Surprise!

So Shane's 30th Birthday is tomorrow...Actually in about 4.5 hours..Well anyways, yesterday I had a "surprise birthday for Shane". I thought he was surprised but found out that he knew about it, but was nice enough to let me surprise him. What a guy, he knew how much it meant to me so he went along with it. The party was lots of fun, we got to celebrate Shane with friends and family. Even his one friend from Harrisburg came in for the festivities, Shane was surprised at that.

I cannot believe he is 30 years old! I have been with Shane since he was 20, 10 years! He is such a wonderful father and husband. He is so supportive, encourgaing and loving! I am truly blessed to have him in my life and be with me each day. There is not another better time to celebrate who he is and what he means to me in my life. Shane is such a great example of a Godly man, husband, and father, one who puts his family ALWAYS above himself. He always thinks of me and Johanna, God truly blessed me! I love you.

Half Marathon!

Yeah, I finished my half marathon today 13.1 miles and I made it under my goal time! It was a great day, the weather could not have been more perfect. I am so happy that I accomplished this goal that I set for myself. My friends were such a huge encouragement and I could not have done this without them! Thanks girls (you know who you are) you girls rock and are such great friends! I am truly blessed to have you girls not only to train with but to be my friends. You girls did such a great job also at finishing and cheering us on at the marathon. Pictures will be added later when I get them from everyone. The feat is over after 2 to 3 months, yeah:)

So we went to a petting zoo today with gram and pappy Rydbom at Blands Park Harvest Fest. We had a great time. Johanna ate plenty of french fries and loved them! She especially loved her ketchup (which was all over her face). The petting zoo was a great time, she loved being with the animals, she was a little scared at first but then warmed right up. She gave them hugs and petted all of them. She did not want to leave, she said "no" when I asked her to leave but blew the animals kisses when we left. She is such an animal lover!

Hollidaysburg Haul!

So I ran in the Hollidaysburg Haul 5 k today and I got my best time yet to date at a 5k race! I got 27:11, it was about a minute and a half faster than my best time! I was happy with my time and had a great time accomplishing this with my great friends (L to R) Katie,Tiffany, Lyndsay, and Laura. They all did a great job, we all improved our times! Also, this week I ran 9 miles on my road to my half marathon on October 13th.

So last night we put Johanna on the potty. She is starting to say "I poop" when she poops but does not know to go to the potty before hand. So we are starting to take her to the potty after breakfast, lunch and dinner when she is home. Last night after dinner, we put her on the potty. She was reading a book, when all of the sudden she said, "pee" and put her head down and looked at the potty. She peed in the potty:)..Yeah...It was such an acomplishment..We have a long way to go but it was her first experience being a big girl.

On Saturday night we went to the Altoona First Festival and after that we stopped by the Meadows to get dessert. Johanna started to get whiney in the back seat so we got her some icecream to "keep her happy" for the ride home. This was the first time she got raspberry icecream and judging by the pictures she loved it! I tried to take the cone away when we got home and she screamed "mine, mine"!!! So I gave it back and she finished the whole thing!

So I am training for a half marathon that is going to take place on October 13th. This past Saturday I ran 8 miles (the longest I have ever ran)! I ran the whole time and it was not that bad. This saturday hopefully I will be able to run 9 to 10 miles. I will keep you posted!

We took Johanna to Slinkey Action Zone in the morning on Saturday. She loved climbing on everything and was not scared at all. She especially loved the balls and wanted to play in them the whole time. We had to take her out of the balls screaming to play on other things. We were surprised about how much she loved climbing and playing. She liked watching the other kids playing around her and was amazed when they laughed and climbed around. She ran and climbed after them. It was a great time and we had so much fun playing with her.

On Saturday Johanna, Shane, and I had such a great day together. We got to relax and have fun! Daddy thought it would be a good idea to take us for a ride in the wagon. He attached it to the lawn mower and rode us in the yard! Johanna smiled the whole time and would have rode in it for hours. She smiled and smiled..It was precious. Basket Fun!

So lately Johanna has wanted to get in and out of baskets. Just today she took all of her toys out of a basket in the living room and whined until I put her in. Once in the basket she sat down and pointed at her toys. I gave her the stuffed animals while she was sitting in the basket and they covered her up. She smiled and giggled, she loved being in the basket. I asked her to smile in the pictures and she growled/smiled but the pictures turned out great. She is starting to know what to do when I get a camera and tell her to smile. Model here we come:)

The other night I took some pictures of Johanna in the bath tub! She still loves bath time and wanted to take some updated pictures. She loves drinking the soapy water and does not mind

having water over her head as you can tell by her wet head. She has started to stand up in the bath tub and put her animals in a row on the bath tub sill. She is too much fun!

Playdate with Ayden and Moira...

So the other day we went to play with some friends Ayden and Moira. Johanna and Ayden did not really play together, they tried to take each other's toys. Johanna would take Ayden's toy (not understanding) and Ayden would get upset. Overall it was nice to see them and hang out with them, looking forward to when they both are able to play with each other and when they are going to be great friends. It was so nice to have a day to visit and catch up with one of my best friends.

Johanna, my mom, and my dad went to the Hunington Fair tonight! It was lots of fun and a tradition I am trying to start with Johanna. I always went when I was little so it was great to see Johanna having fun at the fair. Johanna loved the goats and animals. She also loved the snacks (cinnamon buns, snow cones, etc..). It is so nice to start new things with her and to see excitment through her eyes.

We went swimming today at my aunt's pool. Johanna had such a great time! We love spending time with our family, and it is such a blessing to have such a close family. I am so glad Johanna can spend quality time with them! We love you!

Birthday Dinner Celebration!

So my friends and I had a birthday dinner celebration this week for me! It was so nice to get together with the girls for a night out. They are wonderful and supportive woman, and I am so blessed to have them in my life. It is so nice to have a night once a month to celebrate one special woman and just be girls and have fun without any pressure! Love you girls and thank you for such a wonderful night. Look forward to many, many, more! I cannot say enough about how blessed I am to have such encouraging and thoughtful people in my life.

So we went to Shane's parents house this weekend to celebrate Shane's grandmas (otherwise known as mema's) 80th birthday party! It was a surprise and boy was she surprised! It was so nice to see family and spend the day with them. Mema has nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. It was so nice to see her with them and the memories that were made. It was a great trip and the weather was absolutely beautiful! It is such a blessing to have such a wonderful woman in our lives! She is still very active both physically and emotionally in all of her family's lives. Everyone that she touches, she makes a difference in their lives! We were so blessed to be a part of such a wonderful day and such a wonderful family that pulled this day off!

So tonight, since the weather was nice we ventured over to my neighbors pool with Johanna. She loved the water! She was a little unsure since the water was a little cold but she had a lot of fun. I first put on a floaty suit (which Johanna did not like), and then just let her swim in her swimmer. She had more fun just swimming in her little diaper. She is going to be a water baby!

Today we had our annual 4th of July picnic. We have been at our house for about three years and each year we have had a picnic on the 4th of July with friends and family. The weather held out, it was supposed to rain, but it turned out to be a great day! There were so many kids and friends, it was a great day. Many smiles and good eats were shared by everyone. It is so nice to make memories with family and friends and start traditions with Johanna.

5k 4th of July Race!

Today, Shane and I took part in the Hollidaysburg YMCA 5k race. It was Shane's very first race ever! I was so proud of him. He got 30:04 and I got 29:06, which we were both very happy with our times. It was so fun to experience this with him and this was the longest he has ever ran! The weather was great and we had fun.

Went to Blands Park last night with Johanna. This was the first time she actually rode rides by herself. She was not sure what to think about the rides but once she got going she had fun. It was so fun to experience this with her, it brought back memories to me when I was little and how many memories I made at Blands (Delgrossos) Park. We had our family reunion on my Grandma Wallace's side today (the Gill reunion). It was nice to catch up and see all of the kids playing with each other. Johanna enjoyed the food and playing with the babies. We had a good time catching up. Johanna did not nap and she did so well, I thought she would break down.

We went to Josh and Dara's house on friday for dinner to visit and let the kids play. The kids had fun together. Johanna especially loved Frankie, there new golden retriever. Johanna loved getting kisses from her and laughed each time she kissed him. It was so nice to catch up with them and let the kids play.

Us at the beach! We had such a great time. The weather was absolutely perfect. We did not have any rainy days. Johanna had a blast and it was so nice having a week off to play with her. Johanna did not really like the sand, so we stayed at the house and played outside most of the time. We did take a lot of walks on the boardwalk and Johanna loved waving to the people as they went by. She talked to all of the kids and babies, she loves babies! She also started to dance this week to music, when she hears music she moves her knees up and down, it is priceless. Also, she started climbing on furniture more and wanting to be up on chairs, look out ! Overall, we made a lot of memories and it was great to spend time with family and get some sun!The best memory was just watching Johanna smiling, giggling, and running around all week without having to worry about cleaning the house, making dinner, or going to work! Run A Muck!

So I ran a 5k today with some of my great friends Tiffany, Lyndsay, Dara, and Katie. It was a great day! I am so proud of all of the girrlys..Katie got a third place finish and so did I! I was so happy because I got under 30 minutes, 28:40 to be exact. I took off two minutes since the last time I ran in a race. It was a great accomplishment and it felt great to do it with my friends. Way to go girls! I look forward to the next one!

We went to a picnic at our friend's house Bethany, Matt, Moira, and Ayden's house for memorial day. While at their house Johanna loved playing with Ayden. She and Ayden played in tunnels that he had at her house. She loved chasing him and laughed when he went after her. They had so much fun. It was so nice seeing them play with each other and hve fun. I am looking forward to them playing with each other in the future and becoming great friends.

Shane was watching Johanna yesterday while I went to yard sales with my friend Bethany and my mom. We had such a great time! While we were shopping Shane gave Johanna a chocolate chip cookie (which she loved by the way) and this was how her mouth looked. Had to post it! It was so funny, she was so proud of herself with chocolate all over her mouth.
